Cutting out after 3 grand
I bought another ta and this one is a 00 m6. it has a tune, k&n flitler and slp air lid. it has been running really rich and when i get it above 3 grand it starts cutting out. I put a new mass air flow sensor on it this morning and it doesnt smell like its running as rich as it was but it is still cutting out. any suggestions on what it could be? maybe fould plugs, not enough spark? or even the tune? im not sure any help would be great.

It idles rich but fine other than that, I checked fuel pressure and plugs, both good. Then I unplugged the maf and it ran perfect, not rich and didn't cut out. What does that mean? Will it hurt it to run it with out tha maf?

^ If the MAF was on the car when you bought it then the chances of it having an SD tune are slim. Some people tune the MAF out for higher HP applications, or people like me who just don't feel like spending hundreds for a new/bigger MAF and the car needs to be re-tuned anyway.
Anyone else got any ideas on this?

what about bad O2s? like i said its not throwing a code (and a bad o2 sensor should) but somethings not right that isnt throwing a code, anyway would a bad o2 cause it to cut out when under acceleration and run really rich? i drove it for a while with maf unpluged and it didnt cut out as bad, but i ended up getting 14mpg on the high way! so i plugged the maf back in but it cuts out really bad. so could it possibly be the o2? is there a way to test them?

my car did the same thing when I got it a mail order "tune". I had my tune looked at and they said it had a "boost setting" checked. disconnecting the MAF puts the ecm in limp mode and bypasses the setting. I'm not a tuner so maybe someone else can clarify.

thats what it ended up being, i took it to the dealership and they said it looked like it was tuned for a supercharger, so i had it retuned and fixed it
