Default Weird hidden switch?

So I just bought a 94 formula fired with the Lt1. Their a couple of weird things on it, one is gonna be a hidden switch on the very bottom dash piece under the steering wheel. Its one of those silver little on off switches. I have switched it on and off and nothing happens. Another thing is my dash is a v6 dash as it only goes up to 115. But all the codes and everything indicate that it has always been a v8. Anyone have some guesses on what these might mean??..thanks everybody and have a merry Xmas!!

Trace wires , That dash is common , extra options from factory included a higher MPH dash.

There is nothing factory about a "hidden" toggle switch located below the steering wheel, so pictures won't help identify what it is. You're just going to have to do some detective work and trace the wires yourself and see where they go.

Sounds like a fuel cut off switch to me. Like everyone else says trace the wires.

A friend of mine owned a 96 Formula at one point. I never got to see it in person.

It was an automatic, and had a switch very similar to what you're describing (based off of his description). He said it forced the driver to manually shift the gear up on the automatic transmission, it wouldn't shift any other way.

-shrugs- Just a thought.

It's not a V6 cluster, its because your car didn't come with Z-Rated tires, I bet your car also has 2.73s and your console may even start at "2" and not "1." That toggle may be for an alarm system that car got at some point in it's life.

If anyone has ever had any sort of aftermarket security system, remote start, or anything like that, it could be a valet toggle switch.

why dont you just ask the guy you bought it from what it is? On my old 96 T/a I had my manuel fan switch around there but if you flipped it you would here them come on. maybe its wired so that switch only works if the ignitions on?

If you flip it your car might turn into a Transformer soooo I wouldn't take the chance and trace the wires before something goes down.......LOL

could also be a fan switch. LT1's run warm, most people dont like that.

Wont know till you track it down tho. shouldnt be hard to follow.
