Default Leaky Rearend

My wife's '98 Vette is leaking grease at the rearend.
I have not jack it up yet to look at it (lazy). I know nothing about this transaxle setup. Is this a self-contained unit? Can I add grease/transmission fluid or what. Hell, I can't even find a trans dip stick. Please help, she's on my ***.
Thanks in advance.

The rear is a self-contained unit (as you call it) and holds around 2 quarts of gear oil. There's no dip stick, just fill it. The fill plug is on the rear right hand side. It's hard to fill, you would be better off having it filled at Jiffy Lube.

The left (driver's side) cover on the rear is most likey your problem. It needs to be removed & sealed with RVC Silicone.
(and replace the axle seal)

Thanks, I'll send it to the dealership and they can fill it.
What about the transmission, does it have regular trans fluid in it or is it self-sealed. Does it have a dip stick.

Here, I did a search for you. BTW- no dipstick in trans either

P.S.- You should look for a Corvette shop in your area instead of the stealership.
