AFTER MARKET Seats
Hi- Checked the Mega-thread with no luck. Need input on anyone who has replaced factory seats with aftermarket I.E. Sparcos, Corbeaus or any other (Street variation) Comfort, ease of installation, Weight difference savings (if any) Pics would be cool too.
Thanks in Advance

These threads are not going to help you. I made three poll threads when I was in the market for aftermarket seats and ended up purchasing a set that wasn't even talked about in those aforementioned threads. Just search for corbeau/recaro/bride/sparco dealers and visit all of the local shops to see which ones your own butt likes. or if none of those fit your budget go with 6LEs. But, seriously, you'll be surprised with what knowledge you will gain from these dealers. You can't judge a book by its cover nor can you judge a racing seat by its catalog.

the install was a pain in the *** because as far as i know, it had never been done. and if it had, there were no how to guides to put them in. I did a write up on how to install them. its not the best because i did it post install. I would have done the write up as i went, but I probably had 30 hours or so trying out different things to make them work, including extra sets of camaro seat rails, and one extra set of s2000 sliders.
In the end all that is needed to install them is about $50 and a friend who can weld. It actually could be done without welding, but i really wanted it to be as solid as could be.
The materials are: one piece of flat stock steel, one piece of angle iron, a few allen headed bolts and nuts. I needed a piece of leather and a small piece of wood to mount the seat belt guides.
The seats i actually got for free from a friend who put sparcos in his s2k. From what i was looking at before he gave them to me, s2k seats can be found from about 450 to as much as 1800 for a set. just depends on where you look.

Any idea how much the TRS seat alone weighs?
Did you use some corbeau brackets to install?
I'm actually looking to put some in my Silverado, but no one makes brackets that fit any trucks newer than a 1997 for some reason...
I see summit has some "sport" seats too, and for VERY cheap, anyone here have any first hand experience with them?
