Default Thinking of going with True Duals...

Right now, my car is not running, but I'm thinking of selling the exhaust i have (Ory, and Magnaflow catback w/ Electric Cutout) for money to get it fixed, if its not an easy fix.

I've been thinking of doing true duals for a while now...

So my plan is to run a X pipe off the pacesetters, into maybe some spintech mufflers, with turn downs under the car...

Any reccomendations on Muffles other than spintech...

Am i gonna lose power, due to no back pressure?

Does anyone know where i can buy the X pipe, or does it have to be custom?

Just go to summit racing and get their universal X pipe get, very affordable.

Unless you're planning on making big power, 2.5" will be fine.
I did that with cats and dynomax bullets, sounded great, definitely made a SOTP improvement over open headers.

I've heard a lot of cars w/true duals into dumped bullets, IMO, they sound damn mean. That's what i'm doing on my '83, and what i will also do to the '98 when money allows.

I don't think it will straight out of the box, but I didn't hear any problems from the guy who welded it all up from me, heard of tons of people running it so it must fit pretty good.

Are there any good articles on back pressure and whatnot?
Like to edjumacate myself, tired of noobs telling me my car is gonna blow cause it didn't have cats or mufflers.

Longtubes.

Shorties won't be worth the labor.

Magnaflow 5x9s or Borla Pro XS. Both are pretty tame until you get on them

Longtubes, you damn terrorist. JK. Longtubes, will produce the most power, Shorties arent worth even thinking about IMO, put them on my 5.0 and didnt feel any difference, didnt even notice a difference in exhaust tone.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-642125/

Should i just go with the 3in.? Its only $12 or so more...

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-24215/

What size inlet would i need... For the 2.5in X pipe, or the 3in. X pipe? I was hoping to have the pipe slide into one another and then weld a bead, with band clamp around it? Good idea?

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't 5.0's come with tubular style stock? They kinda look like shorties already.

Thats true.

I have always heard LT's out perform Shorties, on many other cars as well tho... LSx's, LT1's, 4.6 4v, etc...

anyways, GET LONGTUBES!!

Not really an issue on price, but ground clearance, if you're lowered...good luck with 3" duals lol.

Your collectors are probably 3", I ordered some 3" to 2.5" reducers on mine, that whole kit should be slip fit. No point in having a band clamp around it if you're welding it lol.

car isn't lowered. Stock height. Does summit sell reducers?

Yeah, there's no reason for band clamps, your right. Lol

But the 2.5 inch bullets won't slip into the 2.5 Inch x pipe, so what size muffler inlets would I need.
