Tools & Fabrication - Show off your tool box/boxes

If you're like me I love my tools almost as much as my car. When winter comes and summer ride is put away, I usually start tool collecting. I'm no professional mechanic, but I drool over large tool boxes and tool collections, just wish I had more room. I had to add two more units to my tool box, because my base was getting too full. Anyway, here's my humble box and some of its contents.
I love my gear wrench collection so far, always my favourate drawer.

I am not a professional or have ever worked at a shop. I just like professional grade tools. I started this collection on Nov. 2010. I decided to hold off on getting a nice WS6 and spent all the funds on tools. Please enjoy my Snap-on tool porn. Don't min the air tools, I don't have an air compressor yet.

Compressor is next on my list, I almost pulled the trigger a few times when seeing them on sale. I just don't have the room for it, was thinking a 20gal would suit me fine.
I have an electric impact gun with digital torque settings, but the thing wieghts about 5x as much as an air impact and is twice the size.

Which is worse, showing a harmless pic of your tool box on a forum or showing a pic of your car (as in your avatar), the city you live in and a description of that car in your signature line? The car would be easier to steal than your tool box since the car gets out in the public but the tool box typically stays in the garage or shop!!!! JMO

While you're at it, take a picture of your wife's jewelry box and the contents. Show everyone all the high dollar electronics in your house. My cars cars are required to be out in public to use them. My tool box and other valuables don't.

You're on the wrong forum for this, try 'myflamingfriends.com'.
BTW, my previous post was to show how ridiculous it is to be overly concerned with posting tool box pics on this forum. Chill out dude. Think about all the build threads that show a hell of a lot more than toolboxes. If a thief wants it bad enough, he'll find a way to get it.

It's definitely a handy to have a set like that in the car. I had a starter in my 91 camry go out on me at work. I was parked in a two hour zone so I walked down to Advance about 13 blocks away, bought a starter and swapped it out right there on the spot. Saved cab fair home, ticket, and posssibly a tow. I was in downtown Roanoke at the time and I got some strange looks wearing dress clothes working under hood of a car in 5 o'clock traffic.
I'm drooling over these toolbox sets, having that many tools would save me a lot of improvising :chug:

I've always had my dad's Snapon/Mac tools to use, but finally decided to start my own collection so I wouldn't have to use all of his stuff all the time. I just started collecting basic stuff since Christmas, everything pictured totals out to around $300:
http://i55.tinypic.com/5ugv1k.jpg
wrenches are all in the top of the black box, need to pick up an assortment of pliers and screwdrivers still
nothing crazy, but it's enough for most little jobs. Mostly craftsman/harbor freight. I also have a nice jack/jackstands, torque wrench, and a quality compressor. actually just dropped my trans last week with all my own tools which was kind of nice. not a big job but collecting tools seems endless so it was nice knowing I was getting somewhere with my collection hahah.

It's nice to go from having a payment to not having a payment. Believe me I know. Luckily with my box I only have a payment of 180 a month, but the Snap-On guy doesn't play about his money. Here's my box in the old shop I used to work at(when I had a job) on one of my slow days when I was toying with my car. And a pic of me leaving when I got laid off. Box has 4 wheels for a reason. I'm gonna need a bigger box REAL soon.

I am considering a simple tool box for my house.
What do you guys think of this tool box over at Lowes.
Its called a TaskForce 6-Drawer Ball-Bearing box.(I cant find pictures online so I went to my local Lowes and took some pictures):
http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/pimpablo/2011-01-26203316.jpg

http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/pimpablo/2011-01-26203325.jpg
It seems to be built real well like some of the higher end Kobalt boxes at Lowes.
I work at Sears and this TaskForce box feels as if it is built better then the Craftsmen ball-bearing boxes we carry there.
I dont have alot of tool just common stuff(wrenches, sockets, drivers) so I really dont see the need for me to get a huge tool box.
This is the only info I can find on this box I am looking at:

man I wish I had that when I moved mine , we used a lift gate at work to lift into the straighttruck then transfered it to my pick up . next time I am renting a lift gate truck ! but I can tell you this the spring suspensions and the boxs on the mac stuff are very sturdy , nothing like rolling one down a ramp off the back of a pickup bed and down the street and then trying to stop it ! U haul rents a 5x10 Trailer or even a 12' open trailer with a ramp that I use to move my box it's $25 to rent, a way cheaper option to move your box. I've called a tow truck in the past but this is cheaper.

Here's mine...I'm quickly finding out I'm going to need more space sooner then I thought. I think I'll add more cabinets to garage, verses getting another box. I gotta be honest. I bought a set of Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches, eh they're pretty good for the price. They're actually better then craftsman. But, I also bought a set of Harbor Freight stubby ratcheting wrenches, and I must say they're damn good for only $15.

Got the Kobalt box used several years ago- never had a problem with it. Picked up the Husky box fairly recently. Doesn't seem as good of quality as the Kobalt box but I got it "used" still new in the box for $130. Couldn't pass that up :).

Unless you post your mailing address and full name I don't see a problem.
Ok guys. I want to purchase that part you posted in the classified section. I don't have pay-pal, so PM me your name and address to send the check .
BTW... I love your cars.

That box retails for 21K, with my trade in and rebates I got from SnapOn I got 9400 taken off of the 21K. That still left a hefty bill. I wish I knew how to make the pic bigger like some of you other guys can, I'm no pc junkie so maybe one of yall can fix it for me

So for my big black box a couple posts up I am allowed to get a custom name plate for it with up to 25 characters max. I dont want to put my name there and want to put something else and would like you guys to help me out with that. My idea for now is
