Angry Who is using the new GM oils in the 2011 models

Gm says that the end users must used dexos1 for gas and the and dexos2 for the 2011 diesels, who has it and where can a person buy some for either their 1st and then on going changes, thanks for all help, it is a GF-5 oil, when is this crap going to stop on these lubricants.

There are many quality brands that meet and most exceed the dexos requirements, such as Valvoline Synpower.
GM had intentions of making it so you had to buy product from them but failed in court actually several of the big name oil makers went to bat over this when GM introduced this idea and they won because of some law about monopolizing. I don't know the specifics because it was explained to me about a year ago from a Valvoline rep so we would know the info for the customers.

Your owners manual should state that any product that meets or exceeds specification because of this court case stated above.

I found cheap Penzoil 5w30 dyno oil that has the correct cert for my 2011 at Walmart for 15 bucks per jug

I really hope you arent running $15/jug Penzoil in your brand new d-max.

FWIW - Mobil 1 5W30 is Dexos 1 certified.
