Question bullet mufflers

Just wanted to know if anyone is using the 18" bullet mufflers instead of the 12"? If so, whats the difference in sound?? I did a search, but it seems just about everyone has the 12" version. My headers should be here in a few days, and I need to quiet my LM. Any help would be great.
Thanks

Well, let me ask this then....I'm wanting to weld up 2 of them, one on each side of the "split" after the I-pipe dumps over the axle, and was wondering which might sound better, the 12" or 18"? I've heard the 12" bullets on a true dual set-up, but that's probably like comparing apples & oranges. Anyways, any thoughts or opinions would be great!
thanks

I have an 18" bullet in the I-pipe and I would go for a 12" if I were given the option. I think the 18" is too quiet, but still much better than none.

Thanks for the reply. If you say its too quiet, I may hafta go that route, because even though I like loud, the cops dont feel the same way. How good is just one 18" at controlling rasp?? This is why I was considering maybe doing 2 of them as mentioned before.
thanks

1 18" bullet is just right for keeping a low profile with the cops, NO RASP for me either. I will strongly recommend one 18" for the right level of sound without the attention from cops. Of course if you WOT the sound is loud enough. I live real close to a police station and the quieter exhaust I have now is a peace of mind.

BTW, I have a stock Dual/Dual with around 48K mile, and the sound was real loud without the bullet probably because the muffler is pretty worn out. Again the bullet made a huge difference, and oh yeah I stopped getting headaches.

Ok, let me ask this. Is anyone running true duals with a pair of 18" bullets?

I'd like to know as well. What would it sound like if you put two bullets after the axle (one for each exit) inplace of a catback? Will two bullets flow better in place of great flowing catback while still retaining the y-pipe setup?

Will those bullet mufflers kill the "good" header noise too? I have a lopey cam and my Macs gave me that sweet crisp exhaust pulse sound at idle. I want to put an 18" bullet in the I-pipe right after the collector but don't wanna lose that sound.

Will you loose or gain any HP withe an 18" bullet in the I pipe versus the regular muffler in the rear? I have the typical cat back set-up minus the cats and i hate the RASP. Just trying to figure if ill loose any HP if i go with a bullet in the I pipe and getting a Y pipe over the axle for my two exits. I have read that there will be no RASP with the bullet set up.. Thanks

When you guys say quiet...that's all relative right? That setup still probably sounds like LS1 terror coming down the street.
