Yea but I can't find any that don't have those little bulbs on the edge of the headlight housings.

There is a member, I forgot his name but i'm sure you can do the search, he installed a set of these R8 style headlights and HIDs and the beam were actually jacked up so badly that he had to take it apart and fix it. I haven't seen anyone other than him posted an after picture of installment at night here. GL though.

A few things:

1) you don't have to hook up the little lights. You can have just the Halos, just the lights, both, or none. The wires stick out the back and you can hook them up however you like.

2) The first set use H3 projectors - I had a set. With HID, they were passable, but not great. Beam pattern is very narrow. I sold them later.

3) Second set, as mentioned, has a really wacky cutoff. Disappointing.

4) The only ebay projectors that I know of that have a decent output with HID are the Sonars.

And a couple pics of them on my old Camaro. I miss that car.

The CCFL brightness looks sweet though, damn why can't the sonars use the CCFL as well? Hmm wonder if the CCFL halo ring can be switched onto the sonar projector housings.....

I hear you there. the LED rings light up OK at night but if you want them visible during the day, well, forget about that. You could take them apart and get some CCFL halo rings, I've seen the CCFL rings for sale separate on ebay before. Just would have to get a measurement of what the current size is and order that same size.

I'm looking at one right now, they look like 90mm but I can't say for sure without opening up the headlight.

I sent ZomkSpeed an email hopefully they'll chime in. I'll post up their response when I get it. The blue CCFLs look particularly interesting.....

Those might look blue in the pics, but they are actually white. Seems nobody knows how to properly adjust white balance when taking photos of these things for ebay pics.

Ah I see now.

Be careful with other colors besides white and yellow, due to legality issues. Green you might get away with since no emergency vehicle uses them, but blue and red could be trouble. I liked the white myself.

Yeah I know all about the legality issues but I'm gonna wire them into the fog lights so that I can turn them on or off at will.

Oh and green is used for paramedic...

Oh? Didn't know that. I haven't seen it used around here, just blue and red. Learn something new every day, thanks for that info.
