Default Just test drove the CTS-V at the SD Auto Show

And damn, I have to say that is one of the nicest cars I have ever driven! Much faster than my Z06, very comfortable, felt tight, just awsome! The car did NOT feel large or bulky either. It completely glided when I was crusing and was completely controlable when I floored it. Stock is only 6 PSI of boost, so it could easily make more power with a different pulley and a few bolt ons. The $70k price tag felt totally worth it to be able to destroy the competition! Ugh! Im in love. Just had to share.

Well even stock they are well over mid 400's. Stock crank HP is 550. There simply cant be a 100hp drivetrain loss.

Are you sure it's so much faster than your Z? From what I know those things do mid to low 12's at only about 114-115. It's too hard to compare the two with the butt dyno. When you are in a heavier car with power, it can feel like it's gluing you in your seat more because there is more weight being pulled and transfered.

Would make an interesting race though..

i dont remember the exact numbers it was putting down, this was like 6 months ago. i guess its possible it had tuning issues... the owners of the car were renting the dyno.

How exactly does that work at the auto show? Do they verify your license and insurance to test drive? I am going to the San Jose auto show friday by Motor Trend and they have GM cars to drive.

They just verify that you have a valid drivers license and are over a certain age. You also have to sign a few release waivers for liability and your image to be used for advertising.

Do you go on your own or is there a guy they send with you? It sounds fun. I would like to try a new Camaro SS just for kicks and compare it to my Ws6 T/A.

Guy gets sent with you and sits in the passenger seat so he can stop the car if you get crazy.

Your WS6 T/A will feel like a road racing machine compared to how sloppy and smooth the 5th gen feels and how little traction it gets on its shitty Pirellis. When I drove it it almost felt like I was driving a Cadillac/Buick sedan with a lot of torque on 24s with hard street tires. Then again, that's compared to my 4th gen lowered pickup truck Firebird with grippy tires...
