Default 5.3 Pilot Bearing Hole

I was told that all 5.3 engines cannot accept a pilot bearing for a standard shift. Automatic only unless you bore the crank.

Can anybody clarify this for me?

Thanks

I just tapped an LS7 pilot bearing into the outer bore on a L59 the other day.

Its a truck motor, NO WAY can you ever put a manual behind it. Or even go fast for that matter.
