Offset Question...
well im looking for new outer lips for my fikse fm10s and im on ccw's website looking at the offset converter. i was looking into gettting:
fronts: 1.5" outer/6.5" inner shell, leaving me with an 8" wheel (i already have that now) == 55mm offset
rears: 3" outer/6.5" inner shell, leaving me with a 9.5" wheel == 32mm offset
sizes from fikse themselves...
fronts: 2.5" outer/7.0" inner == 44mm offset
rears: 3.0" outer/8.0" inner == 51mm offset
and my ruff 278s now are
fronts: 8.5" with a 35mm offset
rears: 9.5" with a 45mm offset
my question is... is it going to look retarded like this? im having trouble thinking of what size lip to buy. i really just want to buy 2 shells, either 2 inners or 2 outers. right now all my rims are 1.5" outer/6.5" inner

figure out what overall width you want both front and rear first - then go from there
if you're even considering a wheel from a company like Fikse or CCW, why not go with a X x 9 (or 10)/11 combo. if going that route, the offset/lip depth you got from Fikse would work and should look awesome too
also, do you already own a set of Fikses or considering ordering?

the best way (assuming your rear end is centered) is to mount one of the Fikses on the back and drop a straight edge or string from the top edge of the fender. measure the distance from the string to the rim edge (NOT the bead). subtract a half-inch for safety and add that distance to 1.5 and thats what you need to order
for example - if your existing rim is 2 inches from the outermost edge of the fender, subtract .5 (1.5in) and add to the 1.5 your outer barrel is currently. you'd order a 3in outer barrel, etc
