Default LS6 + 243's

Current setup:

Full Exhaust
UD pulley
Custom cam 227/233 on a 112 LSA
Stock LS1 intake
M6 Transmission

made 402/378 on a Mustang dyno

How much do you think I would gain with an LS6 intake and a set of ported 243's ? How much do people typically gain with those heads ?

10-15hp with a Ls6 intake and Nice ported Ls6's 20-40hp. You should be able to make 425-440 wheel with your set-up with them changes.

Yeah I was already planning on injectors. Just curious on power gains from the LS6 heads.

Nice #'s and just goes to show that LS1 IM isn't the total dog it is made out to be

I don't buy in to the math a lot of people use on here. They think well this company says their head is worth 45, the cam 50, a LS6 15, ported TB 5, a UD pulley 10 and headers catback and tune 45 so I should pick up 170

TRUST ME IT NEVER EVER WORKS THAT WAY

If it did there would be a TON of 346's scaring 500......

i totally agree, power does not equal the sum of the parts. it's parts working together to deliver a desired result. i hate when people do mod math and say "this + this + this = THIS" that's crap and they are just pulling numbers off of websites and adding them up. which is pure ignorance.

I put down 462rwhp/400rwtq (Cam only, TREX) with stock 243's and stock LS6 Intake with full bolt on's! I think with your set up you will make about 450rwhp.

Every little thing count's forsure but never set your mind on a number because it's just that and number and a tool. It takes more then just a mean motor to be fast. it's the hole setup.but what do i know i will only be the 10th guy or so to break 500rwhp on a stock bottomend.

I don't consider that cam only if u swapped 241s for 243s. Is your opinion of cam only is based strictly upon the actual internals of the short block only? Not discrediting you but I think its safe to say the majority will agree with me if you change the heads its not cam only. Still good #'s though

To the OP when I swapped on my 243 heads I gained 55hp and 31tq. I had stock untouched 241s on previously and made 419/392. Now I make the #'s in my sig. These are not stock 243s though they have been cnc'ed and the works etc. You are making some crazy good #'s on that Mustang dyno that's for sure a good working combo man.

haha sorry thought you were being a dick. But no my Firehawk is a Texas 10.5 car. But I just got it re dynoed and it put down 475/410 still cam only. Thunder Racing said thats the most they have ever seen so far. Car will easly make 500 with heads and a Fast intake.
