i have a fast 92mm that has oily marks on it... what is the safest way to clean the intake

mix some degreaser (super clean, purple power, etc) 50/50 with water and spray it on with a bottle, scrub with a brush, rinse with high pressure

I'm pretty sure you are not supposed to use Purple Power on aluminum as tons of guys have reported it damaging aluminum and it says on the bottle not clean aluminum with it (even if it's diluted I'm not sure I'd trust it). I'd use simple green and some mothers polish and good ole elbow grease.

DOOH - if you mean an LS based intake and not (Throttle Body) then forget what I said about Purple power as it will probably work just fine on the composite intake.
