Default engine noise / oil pressure issues?

98 LS1 97,000 miles ran mobile 1 10w-30. Used to hold steady pressure of about 40 psi at idle warm.
After an extended run at high RPM/load (173mph) The engine oil pressure at idle would hold 20-25psi.
It goes up 5-6 psi under engine breaking. Maybe a rod bolt issue?
Also noticed a clacking from the engine, and a ting-ting-ting noise from the exhaust.
Switched filter and oil to redline 15w-40 and pressure seems to have come up, and the noise from the exhaust is gone, and under hood noise is significantly less.

Any idea what I might have hurt? Have I hurt the motor long term?
Thanks.

Sounds more like a spun rod bearing issue to me but it's hard to say for sure without doing some diagnostic work . Good luck .
