Helicoil in oil pan drain normal?

Helicoil in oil pan drain normal? Changing the oil today and noticed helicoil in my oil pan drain threads. Is this normal? I hope it is normal and is there to strenghthen the threads in the aluminum. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
