cts-v vs camaro t56 rebuild kits
can someone tell me what the primary differences are between these kits and why one will not work over the other one?
http://www.thegearbox.org/catalog/it...25/3503801.htm
http://www.thegearbox.org/catalog/it...17/3503929.htm
the main reason i ask is because kit 2 claims it's for the camaro and firebird, and i was thinking the internals were the same, just slightly smaller housing.
also, anyone have any rebuild kits they'd like to sell?

CTSv/vette/GTO all use triple/double cone synchros, the Fbody/viper all used double/single cone. The internals are mostly all different between the two.

If it is 1-2 that's bad, you should be able to get away with just the 1-2 blockers. All depends on the age/wear/shape of everything else and what your budget is. The CTSv will already have a steel 3-4 shift fork and solid 1-2 synchro keys. If you want to upgrade while you have it apart, get a full set of bronze fork pads, and 3-4 billet keys. (5-6 if you can afford them).

i don't care about the money, i would just rather spend it elsewhere. like on a house or something.
i put a new clutch, flywheel, slave, pressure plate, pilot bearing, etc all in, and the issue still remains. since then it started grinding into 2nd also.

i had a cold when i recorded it so chill
something else weird, is whenever i shift into 2nd, it seems when it doesn't grind, i need to pick up off the clutch pedal just a hair in order for it to slide in.

Still seems like your clutch is dragging, causing the issues. Test it for clutch drag in 1st gear (flat, safe surface, clutch pedal to the floor, engine running, trans in 1st, brakes released, and rev the motor to 4000-5000 rpms). If it shows no sign of creeping forward (drag), you may have worn out the 1-2 blockers/synchro from having a worn clutch/slave in the past.
