Gears & Axles - upgrading gears what should i get?

Im building a lil street/track car for 1/4th no 1/8 bull Siht.

so far i got:
Ls1
ZO6 intake manifold
LT Headers
WS6 air box with k&n filter w/ bellow
4000 stall

got some373 gears in box but thinking and been hearing that 390s are the way to go.

is this true?

All depends on personal preference. There are a thousand threads on the subject and you can do a ton of reading on it on this site alone. 3.73's are the norm for an A4 car, but for a 4000 stall many might tell you 3.90's or even 4.10's.

If it's driven on the street, I'd probably go with 3.73 gears, especially if you already have them.

I think 3.73's would be very good.

Anything higher is too much for an auto, especially on the highway.
