Default New dash pad

Has anyone ever though of making there own dash pad out of something a little more stronger or anything. Well im highly debating of trying here soon but what type of material would i need and still have that stock "appearing" look?

Carbon fiber would be nice. It'd outlast the car, you'd never have to worry about it breaking up ever again.

See i was thinking about that but then again that might defeat one of the purposes of being cheaper than a factor one.

i know that they have molded ones that fit directly over the broken one
