What is DCI like in SoCal?

What is DCI like in SoCal? With a community this big, there must be some people who know. What is the drum corps scene like in Southern California. My favorite (yeah yeah, no "favorites") corps are both from Northern California - B.D. and the Vanguard - and I have always gotten to see a pretty good if not early show around July 10 each year. We usually get to see the Blue Knights too, so the show is actually not bad. What do you guys recommend for the best shows in California?
