mgw shifter noob question
I am about to order it. They have two that can fit. One is 12mm x 1.75pitch. I know re 12 is the thread size. But does the pitch mean its pitched towards the driver?

OMG...what a NOOB.
Kidding, of course.
It is a perfectly legit question - you are correct, the 12mm is the thread diameter. The 1.75 is the thread pitch...for metric, it is the distance between the threads, in millimeters, so in this case, the threads are 1.75mm apart. As another example, if it was 12 x 1.00 pitch, the threads would still be 12mm in diameter, but only 1mm apart, so that would be a finer pitch. The US standard for this looks a bit different, but is the same basic concept...for example, a 5/16" - 18 bolt/nut/whatever would be 5/16" in diameter, and would have 18 threads per inch. A fine thread in the same diameter would be something like 5/16"-24, which would have 24 threads per inch (so there would be more threads crammed closer together).
So it isn't the pitch of the shifter in this case, but the MGW shifter is definitely offset to the driver's side, but retains a 90* angle unlike a B&M Ripper, which does angle towards the driver.
For reference, the standard shifter **** size for the F-body is 16mm x 1.5 thread pitch. If you order the MGW with the 12mm x 1.75 handle, your stock **** won't fit.
Hope that helps.

MGW offers the stick only for sale if you make that mistake...I have both sticks just in case I change my mind. I don't think it is on their website for sale (maybe it is now, but wasn't when I ordered it), so I had to give them a call. They were more than happy to send me out a new stick...I just don't remember how much it was.

This was the first mod I did to my car and couldnt be happier. A good shifter is always key. The centering springs are amazing. Just let the shifter do the work 1-4, going in to 5th and 6th gear, thats when you have to fight those springs. I still on occasion shift into 4th instead of 6th if I am not paying attention. It gets way easier after you break it in a little too.
