Default Is $7,900 out of line?

Just wondering what everyone's honest opinions are? I'm selling my 2000 TA locally and nobody is interested at all... I figure 7,900 is a pretty low and good price? Am I wrong...

This is the car, it's an old post on here, but I'm just selling locally now.

Default I don't think so...

Very nice car IMO with just the right amount of mods. Given that I just recently bought a pewter 99 Z28 with 100k miles for $7400 from a dealer, I'd say you're just about right, give or take a few hundred dollars. I noticed that LS1s in my area sit for months until they hit the $7000 range and then they sell. You might be having trouble selling it due to it being a M6 and the color isn't that popular. Plus the fact that this isn't the prime selling season could have a lot to do with it not moving.

Thanks for the compliment. It's good to know that "cheap guy" thinks it's fair!

I'd say with the miles it'll be harder to sell, depending on the area. Around $7-8k I think is fair.

Where do you live?? Fbody prices are all over the place depending on that. You could probably get 9-10k in my area for that. M6 is a huge plus as well, those tend to sell faster and for more $$$$.

Put the price at 7,900 "O.B.O" and that might get some interest. Alot of people like to drop that kind of money on pickups and SUV's but with the Or Better Offer next to the price you might get some interest and be able to work out a deal. Its a very nice car, Like someone said pewter is no a popular color although i love my pewter Z28. Once spring gets here you will have better luck im sure. GL OP

I think if you put 7200obo and took 7 youd sell the car. Only two things i can think of for why its takign a while to sell are:

1- over 100k miles
2- not a WS6

You can get 7 out of it easy. Hang on til spring and it will sell for sure. I picked up my WS6 for 9000 even lol.

Mileage, interior color, paint color, and no WS6 package make it worth less and much harder to sell. Tan interior and pewter paint are not popular colors.

Well I'm glad to hear everyone agree that it's a fair price. I'm thinking the biggest drawbacks to this car are

Pewter
Not a WS6
It's winter (I'm in Utah and it's been snowing and very cold lately)
And mls of course..

I was just a little surprised that I wasn't getting any interest... It's the cheapest one I can find online locally.. With my only real competition being a black a4 ws6 with 105k mls for $8,700.. Just don't drive the damn thing anymore...

Your #3 reason is most accurate. Winter in Utah and the holidays just finally ended. No one has cash. Patience needed until Spring arrives.

You don't need to lower the price. You just need patience and good advertising. Bring that rust free car to the midwest and it will sell for a lot more, or at a minimum sell very quickly.

Honestly, I've raised the price on a car before to sell it. If the price is too good people assume there is something wrong with it. Not my fault they couldn't get a better deal when it was available. LOL!
