Default Need opinions of SLP D/D with Long Tubes and OR Y.

Right now I have an X pipe w/ 18" bullets dumped before the axle. For some reason Im thinking about wanting a quiet exhaust now. How does the SLP D/D sound with Long tubes and off road Y pipe? Is it raspy at all? How much power do you think I will be losing over the duals? I will also be installing a cutout so I can be loud when I want to be. Just think it will be fun to play "sleeper" mode for a while.

If anyone has sound clips that would be great!

thats the set up that I have on the car. I think it sounds good. I bit raspy as in anywar w/o cats but it is fine in town or on the highway. I do want a cut-out to make it louder though. Sorry, no sound clips either.

I had a SLP dual/dual for a very short while with an ORY. It was way too quiet for me so I sold it. There was zero rasp though, that was nice.

I had it for a day. It was raspy, just very quiet so it was hard to hear it. I have a Magnaflow with a 12" bullet in the I-pipe and could not be happier. Virtually no rasp throughout the RPM range. Quiet at cruise. Smooth and loud at WOT. My Loudmouth on stock manifolds/cats was louder than the Magnaflow with long tubes and ORY, just much less refined. I have heard the 18" bullet will quiet it down even more.

That's my exact setup also and I love it. I daily drive my car alot and love having a relatively quiet exhaust that still flows decent along with a QTEC for when I want to be loud and a want a few extra HP @ TQ. Since swapping cams to the TR224 it seems the little bit of rasp I had with this setup is gone and hardly noticeable anymore. At idle my setup with the 112LSA is very deep and burbly and cruising emits a nice deep LS1 tone. WOT the DD opens up and screams. As far as losing power over your duals throw a cutout in the I pipe and you won't even notice. Going through the muffler you'll probably lose 5-10rwhp.

I run the D/D with QTP LT's and a custom made 3.5 stainless oval Y-pipe (for ground clearance). Overall I love the sound of it. Not too loud and not whisper quiet either. Unfortunately I do have some rasp under part throttle from 2700 to 3000 RPM. I'm thinking of trying a bullet in the I-pipe when I find one that is made of stainless.

I have the whole catback. For $325 for stainless steel everything and mirror finish, I couldn't see not doing it.

I hear Magnaflow is the way to go. Provides great flow, quiet but muscular tone too.

Hi Chris how ya doin'!

Want a stainless bullet type muffler? No problem! Check out LS1 tech sponser: http://www.stainlessworks.net/

BTW I'm surprised that any of you guys got rasp with this catback. I've had about 7 different catbacks, and tons of different exhaust configurations on my LS1s, and the only one that didn't rasp was the dual/dual that I had. Also, when I was using catbacks with rasp, it only occured under 2500rpm, usually in the 2100-2300 range. Odd that yours does it so high Chris?

Depending upon the headers, there will still be a bit of rasp in the SLP D/D. Coming from just a bullet muffler, you'll find a big reduction in noise by going to a D/D. I actually used the 18" bullet in my I-pipe witha D/D to eliminate all rasp. The rasp in an A4 with a high stall is much worse than M6.

I run the SLP dual/dual with TTS lt's and a custom 3" ORY and have no rasp whatsoever. I've run many different catbacks (Borla, Mufflex, Flowmaster) and the dual/dual was the only one without rasp.

I really like my D/D with the race pipes and I don't have any rasp either, the only thing I don't like about it is that it looks huge from the rear and the weight. If and when I change it out I'll probably go to the GMMG or the Texas speed true dual out the rear if they ever get that one ready to go.

I'm running the FLP's with ORP's, and the dual-dual, I personally think its the best sounding exhaust setup around, no rasp at all, and when you get on it there is a nice note.....
