Thurs July 14 Darlington Dragway 5pm until
Fri July 15 MB Speedway- Autocross and laps around the track 3pm-8pm
Sat July 16 Car Show at Murrells Inlet Square Mall 10am-4pm

This year ALL GM cars are welcome!!!!!!

No problem at all with that. This year, while the event is still CALLED F-Body Beach Bash....we are aiming to reach the late model GM crowd (LS/LT based vehicles). Just like Mustang Week is mostly Mustangs, they gladly welcome Lightnings, fast Crown Vics, anything Mod Motor'd, etc. That's what we are trying to target! The majority will probably always be F-Bodies, but the other late model GM Muscle will gladly welcomed.

I called and set-up our track day at Myrtle Beach Speedway and it is a GO! On Friday like last year, same rules, same prices....but Bill said he would be willing to open up the autocross course just a tad since it was so tight last year.

I just picked up Camaro Performers today.....on pg 13 titled CP101....David Townsend mentioned he won a the Judges Pick Award and 2nd place in his class at the 2010 F-Body Beach Bash.

Yeah im bringing the SS. i finally found one to replace my old one,:judge: and no the wedding has not happened yet, 2013 is when thats happening. The plan is to get down there on Wednesday evening and leave Monday! You staying at the La Quinta again?

Not all cars....JUST GM cars.......mainly LS/LX stuff. If we could get F-body folks exited about this event and support it....we wouldn't have to invite other cars to cover the cost.

We've now added drag racing on Thurs....but that cost us another $1000.
Plus we have the MB Speedway on Friday.

Other than gas prices.....everything else is looking good for this year's event.

TICK Performance will be sponsoring the drag racing event at Darlington.

Drag racing, circle track event and a show over 3 days.......it doesn't get much better than that. Oh....and it's at the BEACH!!!!!!!

MB Speedway = $25 all activities.....autocross, circle track, etc

Class Winner awards.....the bases will have the event logo etched into the base, these should be very cool!

I was leaving class the other day and saw a Mustang Week flyer on a couple buliten boardds around campus. Is there a flyer made up for the Beach Bash yet? If so get it posted up so I can print some and take them and hang them up around campus!

Is there a listing of the classes and details of each class for the car show anywhere? I'd like to try to see what class my car would fit inot the best.

Flyer will be designed and made available for everyone on the event website in a couple weeks. As far as the classes....they aren't set in stone yet. I wouldn't worry too much about it lol. The car show is just a very small portion of the whole weekend, and I wouldn't bother spending too much time teching the car. They won't really be any shades of gray as far as the classes go....what it is....it is...lol!!!

Yea guys...the purpose of the flyer on the site is for anyone and everyone to print off 10, 20, 30 copies and hand out to local F-body and GM people in your areas. The only way the show survives year to year is if the sponors reap the benefits and the hosts at LEAST break even...and thats always a huge gamble on any car show! The biggest way to guarantee next years show, and this is with any big car show, is to keep growing each year! Spread the word!

Are there gonna be classes to seperate say street driven cars that may have minor flaws here and there from cars that are more garage queens?

No, when you get into all that mess, it doubles the classes...doubles the trophies, end up with extra trophies, waste of money, etc... The cars will be judged against themselves for what they are. I.E. garage queens will not neccesarily have an advantage over daily drivers. That doesn't mean the cars don't need to be clean, or a car that's all swirled to hell can win over a flawless garage queen, but hopefuly you get the drift..

Get those reservations in early to get the good rates. I was late last year and had to pay full price.

I just got off of the phone with LaQuinta Hotel, to see when the cutoff date for the discount rate was. Talked to Michelle, she said to talk to her and she will give you the good rate.

Last year they filled up early, and the good rate was stopped a month before.

What kind of turnout are we expecting this year? hopefully it will be bigger (and better) than last year.

We have no clue...the pre regsitration is at 75 right now. It's hard to judge by that number, not everyone pre registers. Bear with us, it takes time to grow a show...and it's only our second year being fully in charge of it!

Yeah the La Quinta is a good deal, I like to go to the beach Sat and Sun though and it's so much easier without having to lug your stuff across North Kings which is a huge road. There's hardly any free parking on Ocean Dr that's not hotel restricted.

I know a lot of people just come for the car stuff though and don't even care about swimming or anything so for that the La Quinta is definitely the better value.

In addition to the test-n-tune at Darlington, we will be giving awards for the follwing...

Best Street Tire E.T. (must be an all season type tire, no drag radials)
Best N/A E.T. (Anything goes as long as the motor is naturally aspirated)
Best Power Adder E.T. (Any cars with superchargers, turbochargers, or nitrous)

They're is no fee for the "F-Body Beach Bash" event registration. They just do this for a car count estimate. You pay for each event as you do it. Pay for the drags thursday night, speedway friday, and car show saturday morning. Everyone can't attend all events so one fee wouldn't be fair to them. And yes, thursday night at Darlington will be the first event.

Im from Indiana but i will be down there that whole week in my Z28. I will for sure be making a stop by!

We have a food vendor set up that will serve burgers, dogs, sandwiches and cold drinks. There will be a live band in the mall. They're having the Grand opening for the new theatre and bowling lanes......should be a huge crowd.

yeah amazingly everyone was ok but it was just disappointing had the room booked and everything was set. i would drive the 00 down there but really it needs to be trailored and i dont want to go through with that hassel.

im still waiting to see if its totaled or not i dont think it is and hope its not but we'll see its just got alot of cosmetic work needing to be done. bad thing is it doesnt book out really well anymore. the air bags didnt deploy and no fluids were leaking which was a good sign. it just got the driver wheel, corner of the hood, front bumper, driver fender, driver headlight and some misc brackets. kinda makes me wonder if the air bags work lol?

Yea when I initially booked my room there I told them I was looking for the F-body Beach Bash room rate and it was 80 bucks a night. I am not staying there though now, I'm on the strip. Hell Dave, if you want I can add an extra room on to my reservation where I am staying for cheap if your interested.

We had a pro mod car that was coming but he was #2 qualifer for an event that got rained last week and moved to this week. So the fastest car title is wide open!!!!!

found a bad ass spot under the side of the hotel to stay out of any weather and then i get a water pipe dripping on the car all night, ffffuuuuuuu.

Guys, we went over to the mall this morning. The parking area will be adjacent to BELKS. If you are coming down Kings Hwy (Hwy 17) the mall will be on the RIGHT and the parking will be on the back left side. If you are coming down 17 BYPASS, the mall will be on the LEFT and the parking will be in the front RIGHT. There will be shade, places to put up tents, food outside, etc. Heading to the track now, good to see cars in the lot already!

Wish there was more of a turn out... It was not what I expected.

Not much you can do about making people come, other than just giving it time and word of mouth. Had a fun day at the track, and gave out the nicest awards you will ever find to a lot of really nice cars. It'll grow with time...thanks everyone who came out!

Man, you hit the nail on the head. Most everyone whines about the low turnout, but only a few seem to try and do anything about it. BIG THANKS for your support, and your car is WAY BAD!!!

David nice to meet you, completely bad ass ride, and thanks for making the treck down from VA! You are right about the low turn out deal. A show doesn't grow by people being dissappointed in numbers and not showing up the next year. Mustang Week started just as this did many years ago, and they have THOUSANDS now! I bet I passed over 100 just on the ride home. We truly had a goal that in many years to come, we can have an event generates a turnout like Mustang Week has. And to get there we are definitely going to need the help!

This exactly, we need people like LMM, Tick, Hawks, Gunk and all the other sponsors and people who came out. If we can get some advertisement out at the bigger more major events then it will grow.

I also want to thank Greg at FTI, Jim at Transformance, Jakes Performance, and Bill Hendrick for getting my converter, trans, valve body and trans brake and then Bill for putting it all together at the last minute and making it work flawlessly, but not after a lot of hard earned work on their end and mine. Thanks for the great weekend guys I had a fun time meeting everyone and seeing all y'all next year again!

This exactly, I saw SO many stangs on the way home it made me sick, but then it I thought if we can get F-body week like this, and get the word out and have people like the you, and the rest of the sponsors to get this thing off the ground in a big way next year.

ps...anyone wanna go back this weekend? haha. I had my car on the trailer headed home at noon and ended up taking it off and cruising around and eating what not for another 5-6 hours playing and what not. Didn't get home until midnight. haha.

lol I feel you I want to go ruffle some SVT cobra feathers this weekend too, don't know if I'll be able to make it, it would be fun though.

That was one hell of a show you put on there at the end. Too bad we can't do more stuff like that because it's things like that people wanna see!
