Corvette Performance - Dyno after ported heads & TB on Z06 **updated with pricing**

Just got my 02 Z06 back and very happy with results. Upgraded to ls7 lifters, ported, polished the stock heads and TB. Put down 460 rwhp with kooks, or mid pipe and stock cat back. Also have stock injectors and ls6 intake. Also have 233/238 .598/.603 112lsa. Gains over 40 rwhp with just ported/polished head and ported tb.

I have got a lot of good feedback from these results and asked a lot about prices I paid. Here is the break down below.

$750.00 for porting and polishing heads with valve job and surfacing.
$149.95 for head bolts
$85.00 head gaskets
$600.00 labor to install heads and new ls7 lifters

$150.00 T/B porting

I had the port work and tune done in Houston Texas. I am not sure if he is a sponsor on this site, so to not get into any trouble I will PM you guys the guys info. I will tell you this, he has tuned and installed all my lsx cars and they have been great. There is always a lot of drama on this site and bottom line is results are all that matter. The LS6 intake outflows the LS6 heads. On numerous tests, the FAST 92 showed very little gain over the LS6 intake. I wouldn't under-estimate it. :)

460 wrh is a great numbers. I would think your really happy.

Great results. I am not suprised at all. All aftermarket heads are copies of the factory heads. If they are properly cleaned up with good springs and valves they will produce the same power as similar sized aftermarket heads. I think a fast intake, port matched to your heads would give you another 15 hp.

Yep... Still don't get it. Putting the LS6 with the stock C5 TB on an otherwise stock LS2 showed big gains. LOL

GM did some good work with the LS6 intake and the Ti exhaust. It's pretty hard to beat those without throwing out a lot of money for small gains.

Actually the ls6 intake is restricted by the 78mm opening guys, or at least I plan on testing a tpis modified 90mm ls6 intake on my bolton z, to find out. I've seen a few tests where guys modify there ls6 intakes and get great results, one guy got like 20 hp and 20 tq at the wheels throughout the curve on Corvetteforum.

That's a crazy big number just increasing the inlet size. Yes, the 78mm does restrict it a bit, but it still puts down far better numbers than the LS2 intakes with the 90mm. The LS6 is an amazing piece actually. That's why they still go for good $.
