Default Help me choose a cam and I need advice on these heads.

I have a stock bottom end LS1 with a FAST 90/90, LT headers, SLP 85 MAF, 98mm air lid, and some more supporting mods.

Here are the heads that I have. I know they might be a little big but I got a good deal on them and I have them and I'm gonna use them UNLESS they just arent gonna work or not be worth a damn on my motor. So let me know what you think about them.

Stage 2 CNC Ported LS6 #243 Casting Flow Data @ 28" Water:

Here are the numbers.

Valve Lift Intake Lift Exhaust Lift
.100 //// 70.1 //// 58.1
.200 //// 142.4 //// 119.1
.300 //// 202.0 //// 167.2
.400 //// 246.1 //// 205.6
.500 //// 287.7 //// 221.5
.550 //// 300.8 //// 229.7
.575 //// 307.2 //// 231.9
.600 //// 311.6 //// 233.9
.650 //// 312.7 //// 234.4

I used the //// to separate the numbers out. It kept bunching them all together.
Valve sizes: Intake = 2.02" Exhaust = 1.57"
Intake runner volume = 233.3cc
Exhaust runner volume = 86.3cc
Combustion chamber volume = 69cc (w/min.mill)
Test bore = 4.030"
Intake port tested with radius flow plate
Exhaust tested with stub pipe

I do not want to flycut my pistons because I will be spraying nitrous and I dont want any problems. I want the biggest, nastiest cam I can put in it without flycutting. Let me know what you think.

Thanks guys.

LOTS of people run 243 heads with great success. They should compliment a huge array of cams.

I know nothing on spec'ing cams but I hear this guy comes HIGHLY recommended.

Yeah I know about PAT G but I was gonna see what all else people were saying. Im worried that the heads are just gonna be too big. Look at the intake runner size.

Lot of people run those heads on stock bottom end. I don't see that as an issue at all. As far as a cam goes, something along the lines of the Torquer V3 should do you well (231/234 111 lsa). Broad power band, plus a mean idle with the 111 lsa, (10.5 degrees of overlap).

He just said that he is aware of all of that.
