Front/Back Tire Help

Front/Back Tire Help I recently posted a thread about this and didn't get a whole lot of responses and am ready to pull the trigger on buying tires. I currently have CCW 18x10 and 18x11s with offsets of 56mm in the front and 45 mm in the rear. The wheels are currently wrapped with 275/35/18 and 295/35/18 and I don't like the stretched look of both the front and back tires. What size tire do you guys suggest for the front? My buddies say I shouldn't go any wider than 275. I'm pretty set on running 315s in the rear but am not sure of what all i need to do to make them fit. I'd really like to avoid the BFH mod. The car will be lowered with strano springs. thanks guys for the help.

thanks for the info. that makes me want to run 295/18/35s in the front and 315/30/18s in the rear because there are limited rear wheel choices with a 35mm sidewall. i guess i dont understand why my buddy said i dont want to go any larger than a 275. I know there are autocross guys out there running 315s all the way around, granted this is just a street car and am mainly doing this for looks.

If you want to run a 315/30/18 (25.44"), then running a 295/35/18(26.13") up front won't look right, not with the rear tires having shorter sidewalls.
Another option is to run a 295/30/18 (24.97") up front. The overall tire height will be a little over 9/16" shorter than stock, the only down side is you'll have a little over 1/4" more tire-to-fender-gap.

i like the stance of a 315 rear and 275 front...what needs to be done to get the 18x11 on the rear??? any mods/ lowering?? im new to all this stuff but im about to drop some coin on my Z and want to do it right so im researching a lot. i want the widest tires possible n the rear without getting too crazy...just want to know the most cost effective way to do that without having to modify stuff.

I also have 18x11 CCW with 315/30R18's, I am running Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's though. My car is also lowered on the Eibach Pro-kit. When I installed the 315's, without wheel well modification, I couldnt even fit my fingers bewtween the tire and wheel well. The 295's I had on before that (on 10.5" C5 thinkspokes) would rub under the usual circumstances, and I could fit my hand bewtween the tire and wheel then. I chose to have a body shop cut out the affected areas, move them back and re-weld in place for maximum clearance. I now have plenty of room and no rub, even under hard cornering. I did not have to roll the fender lips, never have had any rubbing in that location, and still dont, even though the current wheel/tire combo is much closer to the lip than the old.

Sorry no pics real good pics. Black Car,Black wheels..... Gotta wait til spring/summer when I can get some proper lighting to take adequate pictures. They dont turn out so well when its stored away for winter. I also didnt want to do the BFH mod. Something really bothered me about hammering the hell out of it. For some thats o.k, just not me.
