Production versus non-production parts?
Hey all, not related to an LS1, but I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado that needs a new chrome bumper. I see that gmpartsdirect has the bumper I need, but there are two different ones listed. One is listed as production and the other is non-production. There is a slight price difference so I wanted to see if anyone knew what that means. Thanks for any help!

If they are both listed in a GM catalog are you sure its not just the difference of which type of bumper it came with? Call the dealer and give them your VIN to see which one it should be.

No, its the exact same bumper. The production bumper in the catalog is cheaper than the non-production bumper. I would guess the OEM part would be more expensive, but it doesn't make sense to me that they'd call it non-production.
I'm hesitant to call a dealer because I know I can get it cheaper on gmpartsdirect and they want me to get it from them.
