Summer tire for the street

Summer tire for the street Going on road trip this summer HRPT 2011 and anticipating rain, normal for summers in FL/GA/AL. I have 555Rs on the rear and don't think this is a good tire for the rain. I can get Sumis for 125 each or just go for the 555 extremes which are about 200 each?
