Default How effective are Bullet mufflers?

I was just curious how much bullet mufflers quiet down the exhaust. Or are they just to rid the car of rasp? Thanks a lot!

Hate to tell ya man but glasspacks have fiber glass in them, bullets do not. I have heard of alot of people putting them in place of the loudmouth resenator to get rid of rasp. Also they do quite the exhaust a little but not much at all. I'm running the "dynomouth" and its loud but nothing I cant stand.

The really help tame the rasp from headers & orp. A single in the I-pipe takes the edge off nicely. Putting them in a Y-pipe, makes a pretty noticable difference and it looks like you have cats come emissions time.

Well, bullet mufflers look nothing like cats. I looked at the Dynomax ones and they are just cylinders that are a little larger than the pipe itself. But cats are the rectangular boxes. I will probably just have cat casing welded onto the bullet mufflers to make them look like cats.

They are avaliable many places, just search for Dynomax Bullet Mufflers and you should find them. I have two bulet mufflers on my y-pipe and they really did nothing for the rasp. I'm looking to get a whole new 3" y-pipe made.

I have hooker long tubes with some 3" true duals with an x-pipe from lanes wheels, and they put on 12" bullets for me....takes it from rasp down to rumble...
some guys here in KC think I have one of the best sounding exhausts around...
I used to have some sounds posted somewhere....

http://home.kc.rr.com/soundengineer/sounds/

both x1 clips are with the hookers and duals....

there's an slp loudmouth there too...but the loudmouth is just stock
