Default Dynatech header installation help!

Hey guys I'm installing Dynatech LT's on my '93 formula and I was wondering where I can get a Y-pipe that will fit these headers? Do I have to get one made?

Any help is appreciated

Umm...I think dynatech offers one..
And if not, an exhaust shop can custom make one for you.
Or you could go true duals.

Nope Dynatech doesn't make a Y pipe for these headers. You will be good to go with any generic Y pipe as long as it is made for LT headers. Fwiw, I've got dynatechs on my 93 z28 and I'm going to buy a cheapo ebay Y pipe and weld it up.

Have an exhaust shop reduce it down to 2 1/2 at the collector and take 2 pipes over to the stock location for the Y. Y pipes cause Rasp, If your not going to run cats then don't go with a Y pipe. Go with what I said above send it to a magnaflow X and run 2 1/2 back over the axle and into a magnaflow cross flow muffler. Or at least take it to a magnaflow Y in the stock Y location. They cause less rasp. Here is what a member did. https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...cs-inside.html

Thanks man, that sounds like the way to go and it doesn't really clutter up the underside of the car to bad and get in the way.

This was my other idea also, if they have to bend it a little bit oh well.

I am not 100% on this but with dynatech headers I think the driver side comes down straight back while most headers come down at an angle out to the drivers door sort of. again I'm not 100% on this but I belive I read that on here a while ago. Might check up on that before ordering any Y pipe for it.

How did your collectors work on your headers? Do they seal just fine with those U-brackets?

Yep my collectors have the little loops on them, you draw a nut/bolt through and pull them onto the headers. They were a PITA to tighten all the way down, a lot of hammering from the end of the pipe and just not very much room to work with the wrench, but they sealed up real nice and I have no issues so far.

You'll need a custom Y. pacesetter and similar type Y's are not anywhere close to fitting. I tried a couple different Y-s on the back of dynatechs and it was obvious it wasn't worth starting with an off the shelf Y. i used to have pics of the attempts to bolt the other Y-s on but I can't find them right now.
