Default Need some advice

I want to build a 6.0l to swap into my 85 Chevy truck. I want to get 450-475rwhp. I have been stuck on heads and intake combo Are the 317s good for that? Should I get them ported? L92s? Ported L92s? The truck will be driven alot on the street and taken to the strip a well. I want the old school rumpity-rump but the dependability of the newer LS. I am lost on what direction to go, please point me in the right direction.

317s are like 243s but with bigger chambers.mill them ,give them a good valve job.either get LSr comp cam or talk to Patrick-G about a custom cam.look at speed engineering for a fast intake .you will need to give a lot of information when ordering a cam.weight of vech.,gear ratio,tranny,etc....

If it's in the budget, a ported L92 top end with a custom cam would a great option.

if you have 317s and are on a budget stick with them.I believe there are several intakes that will work with l92 heads.a ls3 intake will work.you mite get new l92 heads from SDPC for $375 each.
