TCI , ATI, or Conan 4500 -5000 converter with 3.73 gear should work great with that combo. Or you can run a 4.10 gear if want to run a 28 inch tire out back while racing . All of those converters are solid weekend warrior performers that are at your local tracks every weekend .

I would look into a 4l80e if you want to drive it on the street. 4:10's and a 3000-4000 stall. IMOP. Circle D lock up convertor. The car should be a blast to drive.

Compared to the $$$ you will save in gas with the ability to cruise in OD will by far pay for the initial investment of the 4l80.. Plus who doesn't love a basically bullet proof OD tranny?? Lol

what would be better to buy a 4l80e from a vendor on here? Or pick one up from a junkyard and get it built

I support the vendors here becausethey spend time and help us ls guys out. I absolutely love my Jakes built 4l80e and would recommend him to anybody. Great product, great prices, and it seems like he knows what works best with what combo. Shoot him a PM/email and he can let ya know everything you will need and get a package setup for you..

I looked at buying a used one they are running about $1000 used. They want a core in return if not you have to pay extra cash.
