Default Would you recommend Stage 8 Lock Bolts?

Would you guys suggest getting some Stage 8 Locking bolts for my Jet Hot LTs? Do you think it is worth it? The person installing my LTs said that if you re-use the GM gaskets you won't have to worry about them. What do you guys think? Thanks a lot!

Might want to ask him a few more questions before you let him install your LT's. Reusing the stock gaskets has no bearing on the header bolts or vice versa. I have the Stage 8 locking header bolts and they work fine. They have a keeper that keeps the bolt from backing out. However, there are plenty of people running the stock header bolts. I ran the Stage 8's just for the peace of mind.

I was too impatient to actually use the locking tabs, but I put the bolts in for better looks anyway. They've held up great and leak free for a couple years now, even without the tabs.

I personally do not like them. You can use them and not use the locks.

I'm using my stock header bolts. They work fine.

well I do like them and I use the locking C clip too, it's not very hard to install the locks. They look alot better than the stock bolts too.

I also used the Stage8's for 'peace of mind' there is another set called Breslin Split Lock Bolts that use a slightly different approach - the bolt actually has a small allen set screw in the center and the bolt itself is split - once you torque the bolt to spec you tighten down the allen screw and it forces the bolt to spread out and lock in the hole.

I have a set that I did not use when I installed mine. My stock bolts are working fine. I have them for sale on a local site.

Happy with mine. C-clips are not hard to put on, and they are added insurance.

I had some but sold them when I swapped headers and just used the bolts that came with the Jet Hot's. The Stage 8's work good, but those damn clips are a PITA to get off. Plus, I had the clips off on one side for a few months and none of the bolts loosened up so I don't even think they are necessary.

speedinc told me they were unnecessary when I called ready to order them from them. So I used the stockers.

Once you use a Breslin header bolt..you'll never use a stage8 again..that's all I use and all I recommend..I use the stage 8 at first..great bolts I'm not knocking them..but the Breslin's are way better!
