Default Lsx 454r

Anyone see the LSX 454R that went for $67k at Barrett Jackson yesterday? That was a bad looking beast!

Isnt that the same block that had issues with core shift? It seems I read something about the integrity of the block as cast or something. Ill have to go look it, thats an *** load of money to pay for that particular engine though

It was a charity auction to benefit the American Heart Association. Production crate motors won't be nearly that expensive...

Yeah, the winning bid was for the very first one and the cool engine stand. The announcers said the buyer would get free shipping on it too lol.

Where did you find this at ? I have looked all over and can't find a price on the "R" model . I've been waiting to put my motor back in to see if I can swing one of these .

It says it in the link.

I wonder if that $67k is considered a "charitable donation" for a tax write off?

also gentleman, that is also the "first" or serial #00000001 in the production of these crate motors, at least by my understanding of "Built solely for race purposes, the first ever LSX454R was auctioned off yesterday"

which will keep this an interesting piece in GM history and can justify this charitable donation.

Yes, it is. Any donation made to a charity is a tax write off. It doesn't matter what they may have received in return, it's still a donation. It's not unlike making donations to PBS and getting a DVD box set in return.

Haha, thats awesome. For all of the married guys who have to justify to their wives spending the money for an engine, here is your excuse!
