Default Detail: TT 1998 Camaro SS

Well, finally got around to being able to finish Mcpherson’s car. We had a few setbacks coupled along with bad weather but we finally got a break this weekend.

Cleaning:
- Washed the entire car including door jams twice using two bucket method, grit guards & Meguiars hyper wash.
- Entire car was clay barred using clay magic (blue) including the windows to remove over spray (using the red aggressive clay from Meguiars).
- APC 4:1 used on wheel wells and inner wheel barrels.
- APC 10:1 used on dash, interior pieces, and seats.
- Interior vacuumed.
- Windows treated with Stoners Crystal Clear.

Correction/Buffing:
- Meguiars M105 Ultra Cut Compound using Orange LCC pad.
- Meguiars M205 Ultra Finishing Polish using Black LCC pad.
- Show Room FX Blazin Maize using LCC blue jewelling pad.
- Show Room FX Carnauba Crystal Black Wax using LCC blue jewelling pad.
- Some panels required the combination of M105 using the Purple Hybrid foamed wool LCC pad.

Dressing:
- Tires and trim dressed with Showroom FX white pearl dressing.
- Wheel wells dressed with Meguiars Natural Finish (matte)

Getting started. You can see the thick layer of dust that is covering the entire car:

Pretty much the entire car looked like this:

SS wing removed to clean and correct underneath it along with the perches:

Deck lid corrected:

Another shot:

Deck lid good to go. Wing ready for reinstall:

Dust, it's inevitable with black:

The weather was overcast yesterday so I was only able to get shots with my sun gun. 98% of the car is swirl free when checked on the previous day:

SS wing:

441 LSX twin 70 mm turbos:

RAW HP:

Total time spent: Roughly 18 hours and it needed every minute of it. This is normally how the car stays but since being down for two years, it got a little abused. It usually gets washed/waxed every quarter.

Thanks for checking it out.

Nice work, as usual!! You might also post how long it took. I have guys all the time that think I can "fix" the swirls/micro scratches with a basic 3-4 hour detail.

With it sitting in a shop for over two years. There really isn't a point to have me come do it. Would it be in better shape periodically? Probably so.
