Shouldn't I balance the rotating assembly? lq4
Got my parts back from the machine shop ready to assemble.
He did everything but balance the rotating assembly.
I have used this machinest for countless circle track builds, spec miata engines, and ITS/PT engines as well as street car repairs etc... and have had good results out of him.
I have always had the rotating assemblies balanced.
He did not do it on this one as he said it was not really worth it on these newer V8's, they come from the factory well balanced and since I planned on keeping it below 6k, would be a waste of money. For what its worth, the only thing he did to the rotating assembly was install a set of speedpro pistons. Does this sound logical? I was/am ready to pay for the balancing as I always had in the past. This is my first go at these newer engines...

Thanks guys, that is what I thought, I'll go back to the machinest.
This is not my first engine build, should have gone with my gut feeling about this one.
Why should it be any different than the old stuff I have built in the past?
