Default Please Help. LC-1 through EGR on 01 car...

I've been messing with this stupid thing all day. What am I doing wrong?

SETUP:

-Put pin in #41 on blue side of harness and connected that to output 2 of LC-1.

-Grounded Blue/white/black all together under the glovebox (different location needed?)

-Power from orange cig lighter wire (with a switch)

-Enabled EGR , and zeroed EGR spark advance

Problems:

-On HP tuners EGR position V starts at .02 and goes to 1.08-1.10 when the sensor warms up (suppose to be 5?) This is with just the accessories turned on, NOT RUNNING.

-When I switch on the sensor, I can hear a noise in my speakers

I haven't done the LC1 through EGR yet but I might be able to make some recommendations.

It sounds like you are using the correct pin since you are able to read voltage with your scanner. The LC1 has a 0-1V (yellow) and a 0-5V (brown) output. Make sure you are using the one that you intended to use. If you have the 0-5V connected to EGR but you are seeing ~1V with the scanner then it sounds like you need to enter the correct slope/offset (provided with the LC1) so that EGR/AFR will report correctly.

If you've addressed those things then you should move on to the ground. This is probably the source of your speaker noise. It's best to run a dedicated sensor ground to the block if you can. The better the ground the more accurate the WB will be.

You could also try connecting the serial output to your laptop and use the Innovate software to determine if the sensor is working properly. This might help to narrow it down.

Thanks for the reply! I'm going to go run through all of this. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Question though. Is grounding the blue/white/black wires all together correct? I have seencontradictory posts. Some say to put the blue/white together and the black somewhere far away, while others (and the LC-1 user guide) say to preferably ground them to the same source?

Looks like I might be close I just forgot to rescale the wideband to 5v instead of 1v.

It reads correct when the car isn't on @ 20.9, but not 14.7 at cruise/ idle. I did a 3rd gear pull and it started at 17-18 and went down to 13.5ish at redline. This would scare the crap out of me, but I was just on a dyno and their AFR said I was at 13.0 till about 5k and then dove to 12.0 at redline.

I'm assuming my WB is off, not theirs I'm going to move my ground I think.

Their is a formula for figuring out a ground offset. I'll see if I can dig it up.

After further review it appears that ground offsets aren't always repeatable. This means that using a single correction value would be inaccurate. Your best bet is to find a good ground point. Or better yet, you could use the serial connection

Haha, yea I wish. I re-ran all my grounds to the battery.

Still looks funky. Mind taking a look?

It isn't letting me upload my config...

Would need your config also to get all your parameters to be displayed.
Wondering why you are asking commanded res hi and lo?

In your table towards the bottom you are showing "commanded res hi and commanded res lo" you only need to choose one. Above that you have two parameters that are showing up as unsupported when I open the scan file. In order for me to see what it is, the conf file should be uploaded also.

Have you posted your question on the hpt forum?
