Default 2012 GT-R = 0-60 in 2.88 seconds!!!

Thats extremely quick. I wonder how everyone else is going to respond. I bet Porsche is pissed off right now. I didn't think any other car could beat the GT2's time of 2.9s. I wonder if the GM has something up their selves regarding high end AWD performance? The Corvette should always be RWD but GM needs an AWD mid engine "Corvette".

It sounds like they made a lot of improvements to the GTR. Plus those improvements are available to owners of the older models, which will keep them happy.

So they basically just upped the boost a bit?

0-60 times are only part of the story. I'd like to see the distance times

If it's quicker to 60mph I'm sure it's quicker in the QM too.

"the car hits 60 mph in 2.88 seconds, a figure provided by Nissan"

I wonder if independent testing will back this up and if the 0-100 performance is any better than the previous GTR.

Don't these cars basically drive themselves? I've seen high 11's out of stock cars with guys with no track experience in the previous GTR's at HRP with a decent DA, with a low trap speed. Meaning, these guys either drive well with no experience, or the car is really awesome.

Performance of the new cars is just insane. Just curious if any of the old school, stock 6 speed IRS guys have a chance in a race vs. a car that takes very little experience.

The 2011 911 Turbo S has been clocked at a 2.5 second 0-60 with the PDK transmission, runs 10.9 @ 128 mph, but it is almost twice the price of a GTR.

They launch themselves as easy an auto. AWD + an electronic trans make for consistent quick launches. I assume you can also set it to auto-shift at set rpm points making for consistent runs after launch. It might take away some of the skills needed but it puts up great #s.

I'm sure GM will start using a similar transmission soon in the 'vette.

It probably makes it 0-60mph in 2.88 seconds once. On the 2nd 0-60 mph attempt, the drivetrain explodes.

I don't feel like it. I'm too lazy right now, but I will take your word for it.

You must have the intellect of a 10 year old with your childish remarks. This is an adult forum so why don't you act like an adult or stay out.

I repeat. My original post was a joke (which clearly flew right over your empty head).

Have a good one.
