I have $1200 laying around. What should I do to increase performance of my new 5.3L silverado? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Full exhaust and cold air. You already have 243 heads and a 90mm intake. So my vote gets exhaust and cold air.

Should I go true dual or 1 in 2 out? What is a good exhaust that will increase performance and keep it quiet?

id do true duals, true duals always have a nicer exhaust note. and magnaflow is probably going to be the best performance quieter muffler, could be a few other brands that are on the quiet side.

Spending money on a K&N or other reuseable filter doesn't help unless your paper filter is clogged and dirty. Depending on your environment, most people only change the filter once a year. So it easily takes 4 years to make up the cost of the K&N, and in the meantime you have poorer filtration

I would suggest to spend the money on something other than a 50 dollar filter.
