If it were me, I'd buy the best heads you can afford. With that said AFR and Trick Flow heads are the best, and you can find them for sale in the Classified section from time to time. You should be able to buy a used set of AFR 205's for no more than $1,500. As far as that cam goes, do a search on here for "El Torro". It's a cam that I belive Predator-Z created, and from what I've seen, it's a great cam that wil give you great torque and power under the curve.

Get better heads. Save up more money and do it right the first time. Good Luck with your build.

I'm a fan of AFR and trick flow heads. I had afr and now have trickflow. Simple they make big power and perform. Too many people want to skimp on the heads and that is where the power is. Sample: I just removed ported l92 heads where i made 530hp. I installed trick flow 235 heads on this 402ci and still only made 530hp. However the lower velosity of the heads gained 20hp and 15 tq under the curve. I went from 127 to 130mph and gained near three tenths while my 60 foot was not as good. also,my bud has the trickflow 215 head on a 383ci and made 500hp. A trick flow 215 head would do great things on your car.

I agree get the best heads you can afford... This is what I picked up with TFS 220's over ported 5.3's with the same cam you are a looking at. More power everywhere

I wounder how my TFS 215 would do on that 402ci. Throttle response should be killer with that setup.... OP I favor TFS but AFR's are bad *** heads and Tony does some awsome touch up work if you have the coin.

if you are set on the $1800 range the only two I would run are ls6 stg 2.0 TEA heads or 220 as cast TFS...If you got the extra couple hundred 210 AFR OR 215 TFS

Save up the money until you have enough. I have met lots of guys at the track that say "I should have just got AFR/TFS." I would hold off a bit if I was in your shoes. Either way good luck and keep us updated on your choice.
