if purchasing parts from protwin be very carefull.I purchased a 396 rotating assembly and oil pan.After receiving parts I got a big suprise description was miss leading see post http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/parts-classifieds/1350646-lt1-stroker-kit-block-tons-lt1-parts.html
1-all the piston skirts damaged scuffed and gauged.
2-number #2-#4-#6-#8 connecting rods were contacting oil pan scaper to the point were #2 rod broke part of scraper and cracked it.
3-oil pan was cleanced with hammer to the point that some one went through the pan metal, and it had to be welded up.(this was never stated wene I was talking to mathew befor purchasing)WHY?
4-pistons also had chucks and dings in them?(METAL PARTICALS FLYING AROUND IN PAN?
5-YOU SEE ALL THE DAMAGE IN THE PHOTOS ATTACHED
I spoke to Mathew after recieving parts his statment was these are used parts and he would have to contact the machine shop and get back to me?
Mathew was very miss leading wene I talk to him befor purchasing parts,his statement was only have 600 miles on them and the machine shop told him that all the parts checked out good?how can this be true just look at the pictures i posted?
WHAT REALLY HAPPEN TO THIS MOTOR?DAMAGED OIL PAN FROM RODS HITTING,RODS DAMAGED FROM HITTING PAN,PISTON SKIRTS SCUFFED BEON USE,VERY IMPORTANT FACTORS THAT WERE LEFT OUT POST AND CONVERSATION?
I requested a refund in full.I called mathew a second time and he just hung up on me.So i had no choice but to fill a claim through pay pal and am waiting.
