Default Garage Thoughts?

I am unsure if this is THE BEST PLACE for this topic. But it IS an appearance idea.

I am looking for some other ideas for garage storage ideas. Some better organization idea's. The garage is a 1.5 car garage and as you can see, I have a lot of CRAP but the CRAP needs to stay lol. I have a Big *** Shed outback but that holds the lawn mowers, snowblower and all garden equipment.

Ill attach pictures of the garage without camaro, and some with. Maybe you guys can put up pictures of YOUR garage (please, I cant afford to KNOCK IT DOWN or ADD ANOTHER .5 or 1.5 MORE CAR SPACE so if you have a garage that looks like high Heffner owns it.. that WONT be helping me. Unless you have some cool ideas for storage inside the garage that would also be able to be used in my garage.

I really appreciate your advice guys. This site ROCKS and you all give awesome advice. So thats why I am thinking a garage idea would be a good thread.

Thanks. And now for the pictures:

Enclosed cabinets. And lots of them evidently, ...
It will hide the mess & keep it looking more organized.

And yea, you'll probably get a free ride out of the appearance forum & land somewhere else.

Visit garagejournal.com for lots more ideas!

I installed ceiling racks awhile back in my freinds garage. They hang down about 3' and held a LOT of stuff. Got them at home depot.

I went the cabinet and wire shelf route a few years ago. The cabinets are Stanley brand from Home Depot.

The before ...

The after ...

I use the area under the cabinets for a small work bench/cabinet on wheels & for a tire storage rack.

are you looking to redo the entire garage, the floors and everything? Or are you just trying to find storage ideas? The wall cabinets will help you a lot since it doesn't look like you have a lot of room in the front/back. I was looking for cabinets as well and found kitchen cabinets are cheeper and work just as well, just a thought.

holy moley. That garage is CLEAN!

I am looking for just that. To hide the clutter but to keep it within arms length since I use IT ALL. I have a huge attic and a HUUGE basement for storage. Everything in the garage is functional and is used a lot.

Thanks guys. Some good idea's. Looks like Home Depot will need to be visited by me tomorrow!

Definitely ceiling racks plus taller shelves would help you a lot.

actually NO. But if I can not find anything cheaper, I may have to do that. I just dont like the "look" of kitchen cabinets in a garage though. It looks MISPLACED. But for the prices I have seen.... That may be the ONLY option I have to save some coin

I just re did my garage and am still trying to get cabinets. I think I will just do a real basic kitchen cabinet or maybe make my own, if I can find the time.

yeah if the cabinet doors are FLAT and doesnt have a lot of router work...than yeah it would look really nice.

I am just used to having cabinet doors having a lot of rotor-router work done where there is a lot of fancy design done.. That doesnt really go well in a garage.

Come'on people.. post pictures of your garages. Dont speak about it, show it! LOL

(seriously though, I really appreciate EVERYONE'S opinion)

Just another suggestion.

Keep an eye out on craigslist or other classifieds for people that are redoing their kitchens and try to ****** up their pull-outs for your garage. Yes they may not be all that utilitarian looking, but you can get them for cheap, or even free if they're looking to clear things out of their house in a hurry. Some subcontractors charge to haul that stuff away, and if you'll do it for free, a homeowner may jump on that.

And, you can always paint them for a different look, so that you don't have the typical kitchen style wood colors in your garage. That way you could also match them to whatever color you decide to go with if you finish your garage floor, similar to the pictures above.
