Default block deck height? can we deck .020 to say 9.220?

Just wondering if anyone has done this with ls1 blocks. I would like to deck 20 thou in order to use the rods that I would like to run.

What else would be needed? Intake spacers? Pushrod?

Thanks in advance for info.

Default deck height

.020" is not enough off the deck to cause a problem with fit up. The same is true when you take .020" off the heads. Many of the blocks I sleeve come in under 9.230" when I finish sleeving them because they were decked previous to my working on them.

You should check port alignment with any build. Some will require a little bit of work to the manifold or heads to get the ports aligned whether the deck is milled or not.

Push rods come in increments of .050". Taking off .020" is not going to require a change in push rod length in itself. Other than stock valve stem height, and or non stock rocker arms, combined with the milling may require a different length push rod. You need to check the preload on the lifters to determine whether a change will be required.
