Default I need a 3" duel exhaust with X pipe for my LSX/buick please help

My 87 buick Turbo T is getting a cam only LS2 with a east coast novi 2000 supercharger system.

I already have the BRP (Headmen) long tube headers, and onlp Pypes makes a system, but the pypes system is only 3" to the mufflers, from the mufflers out they only have 2.5" avaible ??? weird i know but thats all they have.

does anyone know of a good 3" duel exhaust with X pipe for the buicks , i also need the exhaust to exit out the side of the rear tires, just like a Grand national

Default Exhaust

LS2Ttype.Do a search on this site an look at BoostedLQ9SS threads. Very good reading. Then go to Malibu Racing.com and look for his threads there. On Malibu Racing he goes by Boostinblazer. He is also on You Tube under Boostinproductions I believe. He has some VERY GOOD pictures on all the sites which I am sure you will enjoy. His videos show a very nice exhaust system which I hope to duplicate when I put my LS376/480 into my 87 Buick T-Type. He bought the 3" Dynomax welded mufflers and the X pipe and went to Meimeke for the install and the tailpipes. I am sure this is probably what you are looking for. Hope this helps. His 78 Malibu is presently up for sale. He has already gone an 11.29 at Atco. Hope this helps.

Yeah the Pypes system for the 84-87 regals/GN's are only 3" to the mufflers, but he only has 3" straight back, like a monti exhaust, for a GN look he only has 2.5" from the muffler over the axle to the rear tires ,

by the way how is your Pypes system, is it good stuff what mufflers did you go with?

I like the exhaust, I got the Pypes mufflers with the kit. I got in on a group buy and the guy told me the wrong amount (too cheap) but stood by it. Here is a pic...

Regals, GN's and Monte Carlo SS's all have the same frame and suspension. Pypes has 3" all the way to the back of the car. I have them on my car. You can order them from Summit, just order for an MCSS.

Looks realy good and the Stainless steel looks quility too, OK is that 409 or the 304 , also are those the Pro-race series mufflers?? How abot the pipes is that 3" Please let me know, Looks great!

as for ordering a Monte SS system, I cant do that my Car is Buick T type, i need the exhaust the exit the sides behind the rear tires like a Stock GN,, the straight to the back monte SS looks like **** on a Buick TR.

anyway ill probably end up ordering the Pypes 3" Regal exhaust system with there Pro race mufflers and X pipe, every thing is 3" up to the mufflers, the tail pipes are only 2.5, they give you 3" to 2.5" reducers that clamp to the 3" outlets of the mufflers,

How do you think the exhaust system will flow going from 3" down to 2.5" tail pipes?

I would order the monte SS 3" all the way back system and order 2 extra 45 degree bends. Cut the back pipes just after the rear tire and weld in the 45`s to make it a side exit exhaust like the TR. Thats basically what I did on my el camino with the heartthrob 2.5" kit, as I never liked the look of the rear exit exhaust pipes.

Default Exhaust

LS2Ttype, I sort of made a mistake when I told you that my friend Ralph goes by the name "Boostinblazer" over on the Malibu Racing.com site. His correct name over there is "BoostedbuLQ9". Sorry about the error but I can't keep up with his screen names. If you look in the Cars For Sale section on that site, you will see his 78 Malibu and I believe he has posted videoes of his exhaust along with the car. Sorry for the misinformation. As far as pics of my car goes, Ralph did take them of almost all my vehicles and posted them either on You Tube or Streetfire.net but I myself haven't been able to find them. Hope this helps.

Yep I just checked the Cars for sale section. You have to scroll down in that section to : 1978 LS Swap LQ9/4l60e Super Chevy Article.

You can get what you need from TorqueTech or T\A Performance. They are both buick specialists with highly regarded products.
