Granted, we all love to drag race, but are there any enthusiast on this board that enjoy taking their rides corner carving?

I would like to attend some HPDE's this year at E-Towns road course if I get the car back together in time. From what I understand a lot of events were cancelled last year because of poor attendence, min 10 cars I think. Allways loved twisty back roads but as I get more comfortable with the car the cops become a problem :)

I do some autox at the Giant's Stadium events, and I'm planning on some track days this season. I finally got the right transmission in my car for road racing and with all my suspension buttoned up and everything finally running smoothly I'll be able to get to the track

Echomirage does a lot of etown and other trackdays, he's a good friend of mine and I'm sure he'll chime in soon

where are you located exactly?

been saying that for 2 years......

etown wasnt canceled many times for low attendance. once at the end of the year they canceled, but most every other time it was a very good turn out. most time, especially on a weekend, there could be 20+ cars there. i typically go every time they have a day, weather and work/money depending. they do run in the rain, while i dont.

the first time you go, its $225, 9-5. every time after that, its 125, 11ish till 5. if you go several times and you know what youre doing, he'll usually let you out early for an open track day, provided its not too crowded.

its not a world class track. the pavement is very bad, the turns are all late apex, and top speed is touching 90-100 for a second. but; that being said, you simply cant beat it for the price, amount of track time you get, and location. towing from near giants stadium, i can make it there in 40-50 minutes. there are NO other tracks around that are simply an arrive and drive. (for the school you do have to pre-register, and its a good idea to pre-reg. the first few open track days you go to.)

OP- what vehicle do you plan on taking. a GTO is fine, but the trucks in your sig may be a problem on other tracks. etown does allow sport trucks/suvs on track. ive seen an srt-10 pickup there before.

I'm talking full road course racing...not E-town:gtfo:...it's too small and tight and not enough run off space in corners. I'm thinking of renting a track and wanting to know who would be interested.

seems like most track rental attempts fall apart, especially around here

I kinda figured that. But I figured...I'd put it out there in case there were some closet road course racers.:secret2: Oh well. :chug:

Full blown open track owner here. NJMP Millville (South Jersey) is the nearest full blown course as an FYI.

I plan on doing the E-town road course school and some open track days there also. I'm scrambling to get my car ready for that by the spring.

If you can put together a track day at NJMP or maybe even Pocono I would be interested in it.

HOLD the presses! With that car, you have got to post more details on that Goat. Please!

NJMP is running a full schedule this year even under chapter 11. I'll be there for at least four events this year with NASA, PCA and Audi Club. Hopefully, more. Any particular class you prefer to run?

Thank you, I am glad you like the car. The race car was in Hot Rod and High Performance Pontiac. Here is a picture of the new motor going in the car, it is a 416 LS3 Carb dry sump motor, should be over 600hp.

I saw that GTO the first weekend Thunderbolt was opened at a NASA event, IIRC. It's badass.

BTW, there's an event at E Town Sunday, a 2 hour enduro and a rally cross.

I'm bringing my LeMons car down for the enduro as a shakedown for the NJMP race next month. 88 T Bird Turbo Coupe'

There are supposed to be a bunch of cars down there. Last time I think he said there were 67 on track.

Posting seperately too.

I plan on getting my son some track time at a few of these DE's at e town.
