Talking Hook up subwoofer to stock 02 camaro cd/radio?

Hi everyone, I would like to know is if it is possible to hook up a single subwoofer to a non-monsoon stock 2002 camaro cd/radio. yes i searched first.

also was wondering why it seems like two subs are desired in car audio when only one is needed in home audio.

cheers tom

Yes, you just need a line out converter. I've used the PAC SNI-15 converter with many different stock radios.

I used the same PAC unit before I picked up my 7" kenwood kvt-514.

If you get an amp with speaker level inputs you're good to go. Also, 2 subs are totally unnecessary in a 4th gen, my single 10 hits harder than you'll ever need it to.

I'll take 1 good quality sub over 2 mediocre subs any day. There are many quality subs that can put out a ton of bass from just one sub. The hatch area of F-bodies is very conducive to bass output as well.
It is important to match the sub and amp combo properly though for good results.
Most speaker level inputs sound like garbage with the exception of a few. JL Audio has a newer speaker level input that is awesome though. Generally speaking though I would use the line level converter and make sure it is one that is adjustable so that you can tune it.
