Default 68 camaro w LS1 BRAKE QUESTIONS

Im in the process of my ls1 swap and I have come to the conclusion that my factory 10 bolt is gonna have to go. My quesition is can I buy a dual bowl power master cylinder and block off one bowl and just run my C5 front brakes to get me by until i can afford an additional 1500 to drop on a rear end and brakes?
or possibly set up a proportioning valve and block off a port on that?

any help would be greatly appreciated Im just trying to avoid buying as many things twice as I can, in this case rear brakes...

You CAN do that but I wouldn't if you are going to drive it. They make plugs.

Why can't you just hook it up to the rear brakes you have now? Have you ever drove something with only front brakes? I do not recommend it.

they are stock drums and i don't even know if they still work. and i also have no brake lines run to the back right now.

No I haven't driven a car with only front brakes but i was assuming that because the front does most of the stopping anyway that it would be ok. I just thought the backend may be a little squirrely.
Is it really bad???

I wouldn't risk crashing my 68 with only front brakes...

ideally your brakes should be 50/50 split for street driven.like everyone else i wouldnt risk it if i were going to drive it.

just pick up a Disk/Drum master for now.. was your Camaro Drum/Drum ?.. find a use one if it is just going to be a short time..

35 years ago, on my 69 Camaro, I just swapped on a set of oem disk brake setup on with the original Drum/Drum master.. it worked ok, just not the greatest.. (don't ask why i did it. Let just say I was really young then)... but I would not recommend it, the recommendation is to do it right the 1st time. (now that I am 35 years smarter, I think, LOL)
