Default mileage safe 4l60e mods

Say You have to rebuild your 4l60E at some point due to old age or something. What changes would you make to increase strength and performance without sacrificing the ability to cruise at a practical RPM so that mileage isn't hurt too much when desired? Like what specific goodies would you have your trans guy put in there?

Assume a less than 400rwhp ls1 and less than $2000 for the work.

Personally i would put a trans go hd2 shift kit , good band and clutches and some billet pistons and servo in it. If you arent going with a stall converter , then mpg and rpm will not be affected.
But for 2 grand you could get a built unit from a sponsor here..

Not enough to really effect anything..

If gas milage is the only thing stopping you from putting a 3000 stall in your car, save the money and buy a $400 civic for a DD that gets 33MPG and insurance is like $20/yr..

For the money I would have one of the sponsers here build you one. I have had no luck with local shops. I went with PerformaBuilt for both my cars. and have never had a issue.

Last time i had work on a 700R4 done it was over a thousand dollars. I figured the 4l60 would be a bit more to work on. Hence the 2k price limit. I'm talking labor of dropping and installing too so spending 2k on the parts alone is def going over the limit.

How does a 3000rpm stall effect non-wide-open throttle driving?
