MotorTrend claims that GM told them the price starts at 46k. Doubt it will be that low but who knows? Im betting 54k starting.

Gm said will cost 57k + what ever options add.
Not sure of the option list. Did not ask the owner when he was talking to coworker and myself about it.
Never Satisfied

Highly doubt it, as pricing has not been released yet.

The owner and 4 sales floor guys that watched the Live Gm broad cast last week would not lie. Watch and see how much it cost.
Also it's in line with what are SLP supercharged cars sell for.

I, along with hundreds of other Camaro enthusiasts, were part of an hour long chat session with GM & Camaro big wigs. During that time, they were asked numerous times about pricing and every single time the answer was, “The price has not been determined yet” ...meaning it has not been announced. There are rumors and speculation flying all over the place, but nothing concrete has been set. I’m not saying that it couldn’t reach $50-60K base, but as of now GM has not determined a set base price. I just spoke with my local dealer last Friday (who claims to have been part of a GM broadcast also) and he stated the price hasn’t been released yet. What reason would he have for lying?

Remember the GT500 is over 50k once you add in the performance package.
The ZL-1 will be priced very similar to the GT500. Within a couple K either direction.
If not GM would be rather foolish.

If someone called the dealer I work at. They would tell you the same thing. Gm has told them what stickedr will look like. But they are not announcing the price. Same thing happen when they announced building current camaro, they did not fully release price till close to build and ship dates. Wait to see the price. Dealers will also jack the price up like they did on early 2010's. Dont know yet if will be one year or couple year builds(I bet on couple).

Badass car, but why not install a whipple 2.9 and necessary upgrades on a ls3 ss for alot cheaper? I bet that zl1 will be pushin 60k...just sayin.

Well it would not be that far off if you look at the big picture. And I doubt the ZL-1 will be 60k. I am betting mid 50's TOPS.
The ZL-1 has an all new cast IRON differential housing and upgraded axles. It also has 3.73 gears. IT has a twin disc clutch. Gear swap for the 2010 will cost you about 1k when it is said and done (labor). A new diff upgrade is 5k. Axles are another 1500. Clutch is another thousand. That is 8500 right their not even accounting for labor on the diff housing or the other parts etc (if you didnt do it yourself) The supercharger will cost you about ~7k. You are at ~50k right their.
The suspension is all new and it also has magnetic ride. Not sure what that would cost.
If you add in the parts from the starting price of ~35 k for a 2SS the ZL-1 at 50-55k is not a bad deal at all. And all this comes with a full factory warranty. If the car is 60k I would say heck with it. But if they can stay near 50k I would consider it a very good deal for what you get. And also remember the LSA is built for boost and the ls3 is not.

they should' offer the ZL1 without anything except AC & a Stereo. cutout alot of the sound deadening/damping material, etc. let everything be an option outside of the powertrain. Probably cut 5-7k from the price and a few hundred pounds lighter. you could have either a stripped down almost factory hot rod or a loaded up near luxury one.
my friend who owns a performance shop here in Toms River is ordering one as soon as the dealer can (dealer says October and production will begin in march '12). Dealer's rep has been following the progreaaion closely and says they (GM) wanted to keep it around 47k but found it impossible due to the magnetic ride control. it'll probably be around $52k, according to him.

That would be cool...but they wont do it for production cost reasons.
The less options the more streamlined and efficient the build process is. The ZL-1 will likely come with everything the 2SS offers plus a couple extra exclusive options would be my guess.
They did say they worked on mass reduction. The only concrete thing we know of so far is 22lbs lighter for the wheels and a large portion of the hood is carbon. They added quite a bit of weight with the supercharger and the iron differential though. That is probably 200lbs right their. My guess is the car will be right around 4k pounds. (guessing by looking at the SS manual at 3860)
